81% of Americans believe homeownership is the best long-term investment

The U.S. is still recovering from what was unfortunately one of the worst housing crises in years.

However, an interesting new Pew Research Center study found that 81% of American adults believe that "buying a home is the best long-term investment a person can make."  


When renters were surveyed, 80% said that they hoped to one day own a home.


When asked to rank their long-term goals, "homeownership" and "being able to retire comfortably" were consistently ranked as #1.
